Music

Around the world, many of us tap our fingers on tables, or phones, or your legs or whatever you’re doing to keep you busy for the next few minutes. If one of these people are you, take a minute to notice your tapping. Are they in a rhythm? Or one of those super-catchy songs you can’t get out of your head? This all has to start with music.

Most of us know that music is composed of different pitches of sound, or notes. We’ve been hearing music probably every day of our lives, even through our own speaking. Like many other features in our everyday world, music has been around since the Big Bang that started the creation of everything. Of course, someone discovered that you could use these different sounds to make melodies that were absolutely beautiful and some melodies that sound absolutely horrible. Once music was discovered, different instruments were invented, like the piano, tuba, and the flute.

Now, today, music is the reason why thousands of people are so popular.  It is why many peoples’ idols are musicians. They have become more than just a musician. They have become someone with bigger responsibility to their fanbase, the media, and themselves. It is also why being famous is pretty hard. It takes a lot more than doing what you do and just that. you have a lot of other things to consider and do than just sing or play or act or whatever.

Music is the thing that works in our mind and soul. That catchy song in your head is all thanks to music. After all, we do need that break to those notes after all. So take note (no pun intended) of music. it may be interesting.

Were we meant to have pets as companions?

Many of us around the world have a pet, whether it’s a cat, or a dog, or fish, or anything. Us humans have had these kind of companions, but were we really supposed to have animals next to us, training them to listen to us and making them do stuff for us, and making us and the pet happy? Or were we supposed to just let them be in the wild?

We must turn back the clock far back, to the point when humans started to hunt food after scavenging for fruit and herbs and etc, when they found animals, and some they killed for meat, but some they befriended, helping them kill more vast beasts. Was it the right thing to do? After all, maybe their lives would be more safe in the wild, with families. Or their lives could be safer with a person to watch over him, in a friendly community.

If there was another universe like ours but our pets were wild animals, would they be better off? It would increase nature’s list of animals but they would be wild. They would bite seeing people and would bark or scratch or do anything animal-instinct like to keep us away from them. This would also put the animals at more risk to die but more offsprings for the animals.

So, should we have made animals our companions? It depends. With us by our dog, cat, fish, or whatever’s side, they may live longer, but without, there would be more in the world. Both are positives for the animals. So maybe it doesn’t matter what happened way back when. That’s a good thought to think about especially with moments like these.

Space

What is space? This may sound like an easy question, but explaining what space is isn’t easy. Would you say it is an black area with no gravity? Or the universe’s building space? There are many answers to this question. But we are asking ourselves the wrong question. Let me explain.

All of the answers of what space is are pretty much correct, one way or another. We know how to describe space, one way or another. The thing is that we know what space is. What we want to know what is in space, what different places there are, what a black hole looks like, and etc.

This isn’t even an official photo of a black hole. There are very few pictures in the world that are an actual black hole. This is how mystic space is. Although we may take photos by sending submarines with men in them in the so-called final frontier at the bottom of the ocean, we can’t always send men (and women) to space.

So what is the real final frontier of our minds? Will it be the place way down where we can send people without much cost? Or is it the clouds, where rain and birds appear everywhere around you? Or should it be the far deep, pitch black, amazing space? This is up to you.

Traveling Tips

It’s been about three days since I came back from Korea. The jet-lag is now gone and now I feel ready for this upcoming school year. But I look back at what I packed for Korea, and I sometimes ask, “Why did I pack that?” or “Why is this here?” or “We should have went here!” So, to cut you some bag space and some slack when packing for your next trip to where ever, here are some tips to help you travel on your next trip.

Pack things that you actually need, like clothes, hygienic stuff, and whatever you need. The major thing: DON’T OVERPACK! It may not seem a big of a deal, but trust me, it’s gonna help you carry your luggage and might help you avoid the situation of not using something the whole trip. It should help yourself in any way, but don’t under-pack either.

First things first, you have to pack stuff, whether it’s your baggage or your trunk. If it’s a plane ride that takes a while, it’s best to take electronics with you to the flight. It might cut you some spare time when you need it. Also, when the lights get dark in the plane it’s best to sleep, especially if there’s a time zone difference. But if it’s a car you have to drive, it’s best to take breaks along the way. Stop to eat lunch and dinner, and stay at a hotel if you have to.

Once you find a place with internet, you should find tourist attractions that you can go to. You may experience a lot of fun things and avoid you spending time in you hotel for a day pondering on where to go. After all, you don’t spend time on trips doing nothing!

Vacations are supposed to be exciting and fun. If you pack the right things, do the right things in transit, and go to the right tourist attractions and you will have a fun time on you trip. Enjoy your travels and hope the trip is in your memory forever!

The Many Differences of Countries

You might say that the U. S. and the U. K. are similar looking at things like where people mostly live and stuff. But assumptions are useless, and we must say that all the countries around the world are different. Where I'm at right now, Korea, is a much different story than America, my home country.

When you look at a map, you probably see that America is bigger that India and China. However, the United States have less people living in it than the smaller countries China and India. India is a developing country, so it seems that their citizens aren't at their best conditions. China, however, is a developed country, so maybe their citizens live in big apartment buildings or houses above buildings, probably low quality. You could probably see the same things in Korea, where there is a developed country with lots of people in it.

It is amazing how people complain how their house or apartment is so bad or the kitchen is just off. There are many people in a different country doing fine in a mini house! Shared with, maybe, another family! Before we start complaining about the stupid toiled or the dumbest TV ever, we should consider the lesser and say, "Am I living a better life than the people below me?"

We all understand that every country is different. It's a given fact, saying if two countries were too similar, they'd probably just say they join to become a single country. But even with that, we should remember that us reading this are at least in better condition then those who cannot. So maybe lessen the amount of complaints about your life. It might make the everyday life easier.

Zeno’s Paradox

Say you walk a mile to a friend’s house. Really, this shouldn’t be anything really bad because it’s just a mile. But think of this: to get to your friend’s house, you must walk half a mile, but before that you must walk a quarter mile, but first you have to walk an eighth of a mile and so on. How do you get to your friend’s place when , even though it is a mile, it seems that you have to do infinite tasks to get to your friend’s house. This is one of three of Zeno’s paradoxes having to do with distance.

Even though you can go a mile easily without torturing yourself to infinite tasks, it does seems interesting how Zeno thought of this. He also thought of other paradoxes that were close to that. The one in the intro was called the dichotomy paradox.

For example, take the “Achilles and the Tortoise” paradox. If a tortoise gets a 100-meter head start on Achilles on a foot race. Say that Achilles can run twice as fast as the tortoise. Zeno says that Achilles will never pass the tortoise because when they start, by the time Achilles reaches the point the tortoise starts on, the tortoise will have moved half the distance. Once Achilles reaches the next point the tortoise was at, the tortoise will have moved more. Zeno then states this repeats forever, and Achilles never catches up and states that it is impossible to overtake anyone in a race. However, we have all seen someone beat somebody by catching up to them and passing them, so the paradox’s solution is found by knowing that, there are times when the runner does not move, like when their foot lands on the floor, and the next leg is picked up.

Many other paradoxes are fun to think about. Zeno was just one of the many people to think of paradoxes. So maybe the next time you get bored maybe look up paradoxes. You might twist your mind a bit.

What Are the Keys To Succeed?

Everybody wants success. After all, success leads to good things that make us happy like praises, knowing that someone cares about what you did, or a reward, like a pizza party at work. But the road to success is somewhat confusing. Was it because of hard work? Or your diverse skills? Maybe even luck? It is hard to explain what directly leads to success but there are many ways to may show you the way to success.

Say you just started playing baseball and you can’t tell the difference between a shortstop and a catcher. You don’t even know what a fastball is! How are you going to get better so you don’t always have to sit in the dugout being a bench warmer? Many people would probably just sign off, but if you work hard, maybe you could be the star of the team. In fact, working hard everyday may be a great way to start your way from the bottom to the top. Once you’re at the top, it’s a different story, though.

Once you have a flair for baseball and you are the star of the team, how are you going to stay on top? People now expect more of you because you are, well, good! Sure, you can expect a bad player to get a strikeout, but you can’t expect the star to mess up like that! Once you are at the top, and you can perform, now use your skills and improve them from the last game. Even though it gets harder and harder to improve once your skills get better, you will definitely notice the difference in the way you perform. Again, hard work is also beneficial here.

Although these might not directly go to success, you will get there one day. One day you will have success at your hands if you work hard and use and improve your skills. Maybe the road to success isn’t that cloudy after all.
